Charity Raft Run from Felinheli to Menai Bridge
A paddle like no other, the Great Strait Raft Run is held annually on the majestic waters of Anglesey’s Menai Strait. The spectacular backdrop of Snowdonia’s mountains and the Isle of Anglesey’s natural beauty contribute to the uniqueness of this fun and challenging day. All about rafting and raising money for good causes.
Starting from the old slate port of Felinheli, rafts proceed past historic Plas Newydd and on towards Porthaethwy (Menai Bridge). En route, they pass beneath the iconically spectacular Britannia and Menai bridges that link Anglesey to the mainland. And have to navigate the notorious and occasionally demanding Swellies before arriving at Menai Bridge.
Fun to watch! Fun to take part in! Raft classes are: Time Chasers • Best of the Rest • Best Entered Raft or ‘Judges Choice’ (as deemed by the Judges) • Best Junior Raft • Best Ladies Raft. The Elim Trophy will be won by the raft that raises the most money. Depending upon entries there will also be a Best Pub Trophy. All teams, successfully completing the route will be awarded a certificate.
